Bucyrus belt conveyor solutions are precision
engineered to meet each customer’s mining or
tunneling requirements and experienced Bucyrus
engineers are always on hand to supervise the
installation and ensure a smooth start-up.
Power transmission configurations
• Alignment free
• Parallel shaft
• Right angle
• Concentric ("tucked under“ polychain)
Drive technologies
• AC Variable frequency drives (VFD)
• DC Drives
• TPKL fluid transmission
• Dodge CST
• Reduced voltage/ solid state
• Fluid couplings
Belt
Starters
Bucyrus offers belt starters for various drive
technologies.
• Across the line starter for use with fluid
couplings
• Reduced voltage starter for solid state drives
• DC motor controller
• AC variable frequency motor controller
Alignment Free Drive
Benefits of an alignment free power
transmission include:
• Ease of set up and installation
• Ease of transportation into and around the mine
• Narrower overall drive width
• Universal mounting – same drive can be left hand
or right hand
• Reduced operating maintenance
Remote Discharge
Bucyrus remote discharge units are
available in floor mounted or roof-hung
configurations, as rigid A-Frame or adjustable boom
with ratchet jacks. Discharges are designed for
in-line or 90 degree transfer points.
Take-Up Sections
The take-up is a very critical portion of
any belt system. Bucyrus take-ups apply accurate and
very responsive belt tension to the system. Various
take-up designs exist and each model is selected
based on the application at hand. Some of the
customer specified options include: one or two
cylinders, active travel length (belt storage),
hydraulic or electric winch, wire rope ratio. Each
Bucyrus take-up pulley is designed for the maximum
force each cylinder or winch can provide, this
philosophy eliminates any weak links in the entire
”take-up system”. Bucyrus designs and promotes
mainly hydraulic cylinder style take-up sections.
All models are constructed for rugged, mine-duty
applications and are engineered to operate with the
other components of a belt conveyor system.
Hydraulic Power Units
Bucyrus hydraulic power packs are
available for a variety of take-up sizes, such as
10, 25, 40, 60 or 100 hp. Each Bucyrus power pack
comes with an on board PLC for controlling power
pack operation; it can also interface with other
mine wide communications. Since Bucyrus engineers
are heavily involved with the belt system
specifications, the power pack is delivered to the
customer preprogrammed with the ”proper setting” to
handle the belt take-up application. With this
”smart system” it is easy to re-configure the power
pack for future applications or changes that may
occur during the mining cycle.
Belt Storage Units
Excellent automatic belt ”pay out” while
advancing and belt storage when retreating are key
advantages of specifying BUCYRUS belt storage units
for a modern conveyor system. Their use eliminates
belt splicing and belt removal on production shifts.
Stored belt capacities range from 300 feet / 90
meters up to 2,000 feet / 610 meters. Belt
tensioning applied by a storage unit facilitates the
transmission of drive pulley torque and is needed to
prevent excessive belt sag between carrying idlers.
BUCYRUS offers three belt storage designs: electric
and hydraulic constant tension winch or hydraulic
cylinders.
Intermediate and Tail
Loading Sections
Field proven Bucyrus belt conveyor
transfer stations are designed and built for the
steady, efficient transfer of extracted materials.
Two common transfer requests are: in-line and right
angle. Bucyrus' intermediate and tail loading
sections are fabricated with either impact-resistant
idlers or EXALON (polyethylene) impact slider beds
and a structurally rigid, heavy-duty loading frame.
Models are available for receiving discharges from
an extensive range of haulage equipment –
Un-A-Haulers® (coal haulers), Un-A-Trac® (scoops),
feeder conveyors and shuttle cars. |
