The PF3 pan is recommended for capacities up to 2000 t/h, while higher capacities are covered by the PF4, PF5 and PF6 pans.

Thicker sections and bottom plates ensure extremely high wear-resistance for the PF5 and PF6 pans. These were specially designed for use in difficult geological conditions such as abrasive material handled or seams with a high rock content. These pan models are also suitable for shearer with haulage pull forces of more than 1.000 kN. To ensure that each new generation of face conveyors meets the design criteria, they are subjected to extensive testing in the Bucyus Test Center.
