Draglines
Draglines are the largest single bucket excavators built
today and Bucyrus has designed and manufactured the world’s
largest. Walking Draglines are a primary excavating tool
used in many surface mining operations worldwide. These
highly productive machines operate 24 hours a day, seven
days a week and are able to reach depths of 213 feet (64.92
m) and have capacities of up to 152 cubic yards (116.2 cubic
meters.) With the lowest material removal cost per ton (tonne)
and an average operating life of 40 years, draglines are the
most productive and versatile machine in the industry.
Bucyrus offers more than fifteen dragline specifications and
an on staff application engineer who works with customers to
tailor each dragline to that mine’s specific needs.
