Bucyrus International, Inc.

History
Throughout company history, Bucyrus has led the industry in innovative products designed to satisfy the world's toughest earthmoving requirements.

The year 1914 marked the completion of the Panama Canal, one of the largest excavation projects of the early 20th century. Bucyrus machines were instrumental in its creation.

In the mid 1970’s Bucyrus began working with Siemens Energy and Automation with the goal of creating the most cost-effective electric drive system available. As a result, the first all AC drive electric mining shovel was commissioned in 1980.

At Bucyrus, technology is seen as a vital component in helping our customers succeed.
